Happy 4th Birthday

Tomorrow Ethan and Dylan turn 4 years old. Wow how time flies. Grandma made the cakes this year to complement the CARS theme. Ethan requested Sally and Mater, while Dylan loves Guido and Luigi. We went to an indoor play gym for their party. All their friends from school , grandparents, and cousins attended the party.

Football

Watch out Chargers... Here we come. Ethan and Dylan tried out football in sports camp this week. Coach Steve taught them the rules of the game.

4 kids would then stand back and wait until the opposing child said hike. Then the four kids would run after the ball carrier trying to pull his flags and NOT tackle him. Here is Dylan as quarterback.

Child like Faith

I see now that I have children, why God asks us to have child like faith. It is so innocent.

Yesterday Dylan slipped on the sand outside in our backyard. After cleaning and bandaging him up, he told Ethan that they needed to clean up the sand since he slipped and was bleeding. Ethan immediately gets out the broom and Dylan hold the dust pan. I then here "Mommy which side, this side or that side." I turn and look and he is asking me which side his heart is on. I point out that his heart is on the left side. He then looks down and says, "Jesus please heal Dylan's elbow. Thank you!" This of course, came from our previous conversation of telling them that Jesus lives in our heart.

Creativity

One evening the boys declared that they were hungry. Usually I give them some fruit, when they request. But this evening I went with pretzels. When I come into their room this is what I see...

Sports Camp

I enrolled the boys in a 8 week sports camp. They practice soccer, basketball, football, and baseball each for two weeks. Today was the first day with soccer. Here you can see them stretching and warming up thier muscles.

The coach taught them how to trap the ball. They had to run up and step on the ball to stop the forward motion of the ball.

They also "played" a little soccer. Dylan scored a goal!

Ethan also scored a goal. he overshot, and went back to correct it.

Swim Lessons

I decided that for the last two weeks of summer, I would enroll the boys in swim lessons. Now, some of you might know that I have taught swim lessons for many years ( 17 to be exact); so why have someone else teach my kids you ask? I logistially could not get them to a pool on a frequent enough basis. ith that said we head to the local YMCA for two weeks.

Ethan LOVES to swim. He enjoys splashing and going underwater. While in the bathtub, he has Dylan create a bridge with his legs. Then he swims underneath- holding his breath the whole way .

Dylan enjoys the water. He is very cautious while swimming. He loves to clap loudly for Ethan as he goes underwater. About two weeks ago he mastered going underwater himself, but still goes under with caution.

Summer time

It is so hot, here in Southern California!! We are experiencing temperatures in the 90-100's. There are not many things to do to get cool, besides the beach. As you can see, one day last week we headed to the bay to splash and play.

The kids were actually cold during their picnic lunch!!

Strawberry picking

On Monday we joined our friends at the u-pick strawberry fields. We had a great time. Each child got a bucket and was able to pick and eat as many strawberries as they could handle.

Daddy's Birthday

June 7 was Marc's birthday. He wanted to go somewhere that had a good salad. So we headed to California Pizza Kitchen. The boys were so excited that it was daddy's birthday, that they announced it to everyone in the restaurant. When we were seated, they immediately told the waitress. The food came and went, and no cake or people singing. They were truly disappointed. So we made it up ordered ice cream and sang to him ourselves. They were thrilled. Here are some pictures of our memorable night.

We Made the Cover

We made the cover of the Macy's Father Day ad. Back in March the boys did a photo shoot in Santa Barbara for Macy's. The boys did not have to audition for this part they were picked off of pictures that we over a year old. We drove up to Santa Barbara the night before and stayed in a hotel. They had a call time of 10:00 am.

Upon arriving at the house they were met by the hair and make up artist. Then they met Chris their "dad" for the day. He immediately took to the kids. Which helped them have a great shoot. Chris is from England and was here all week doing shots. You can see his picture all over the ads. Check back later, their might be more pictures to come.

Dairy Farm Tour with Twins Club

On Friday, May 26, our local twins club went to a dairy farm. We saw lots of cows!! Were able to touch new calves, watch them milk cows and see pregnant cows.

Of course the boys favorite part was the eight foot tall cotton seed that they were able to climb up and jump in.

Here is a picture of the gang. Of course, Ethan and Dylan are in red "cow shirts"

New car

Well we made the jump- a minvan. It was time to get a car that could fit more people. I was leaning more towards the SUV, but it was just that much more money and with gas at the prices the way they are we made the decision to go with the minivan. Here are some new pictures of the vehicle. Ethan has the back row all to himself and thinks he is the king. He has the whole row filled with his things. Dylan is in the middle row and can open and lock the door by himself. He is so proud.

The boys have an undying and true love for Princess. Their favorite is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. They role play the movie daily.

Here you can see Ethan dressed up as Papa, with his hat and cloak. Dylan is Belle and is so excited to see her Father.
Grandma and Papa sent Ethan and Dylan a stage with puppets
that stand up. They have played with it constantly since the
"mail package" arrived.
